Our Firm

New Holland Capital is a leading independent Australian corporate advisory firm. Established in 2005, New Holland has been providing its advisory services for over 12 years through a variety of market conditions, business environments and commodity cycles.

We provide a range of advisory services covering capital raising (debt and equity) and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). Our team of corporate finance professionals has extensive experience across a range of transaction types and has collectively completed over US$10 billion in M&A transactions and US$9 billion in debt and equity market transactions. Our transaction experience extends across domestic and international markets including cross-border transactions.
Our focus is on resources and complementary sectors (mining services and technology, energy, infrastructure, agribusiness, transport and logistics, industrials) where we have a strong track-record of success. Our sector focus together with our Executives’ industry and transaction experience gives us an in-depth knowledge of the markets our clients operate within.
The New Holland team has extensive contacts and relationships with industry and capital markets participants placing us at the forefront of market trends and industry shifts. We also maintain relationships and dialogue with key industry regulators to ensure regulatory compliance is as seamless as possible for our clients.

Senior Executives

Craig Milton


Director

Craig Milton joined New Holland in 2015 after more than 15 years corporate advisory experience in Australia. Prior to joining New Holland, Craig held senior corporate finance positions with Credit Suisse and Wilson HTM Investment Group. Most recently Craig was a Director (Mining and Metals) of Credit Suisse and Head of the Perth Office.

At Credit Suisse and Wilson HTM Craig provided corporate finance advice to significant public and private companies including Whitehaven Coal, Independence Group, Atlas Iron, Felix Resources, Cliffs, AMCI and First Reserve Corporation.

Craig has extensive deal experience having executed more than 50 transactions across a variety of industries and incorporating the full suite of corporate finance products (M&A and financing alternatives across the capital structure).

Craig McGown


Director

Craig McGown has been a Director at New Holland since 2008 with over 35-years’ experience spanning corporate advisory and broking.

Craig has significant expertise in equity raising having executed over 50 capital raisings across a range of industries, particularly in the natural resources sector. Previously Craig has served on the Boards of a number of listed and unlisted companies, including Resource Finance Corporation and as Executive Chairman of brokers DJ Carmichael and WH Ireland Australia.

Craig is also currently Non-Executive Chairman of both Pioneer Resources and Sipa Resources, has previously held directorships at Bass Metals Limited and Peel Mining Limited, and was Vice President Corporate Development at Marengo Mining.

Ian Bain


Director

Ian joined New Holland in 2011 and has over 30 years’ experience in the corporate and corporate advisory sectors. Ian was previously with ABN AMRO as Global Head of Metals and Mining Corporate Finance.

Ian’s experience encompasses corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, debt restructuring and capital raisings (IPO’s and secondary offerings) in the natural resources sector, both in Australia and London.

He has worked for and carried out numerous assignments across the globe for clients such as BHP Billiton, Codelco, Vale, Newcrest, Macarthur Coal, UK Coal, Gloucester Coal, ENRC, MMK, Yamana, Lihir Gold, Glencore, Boliden, CITIC, Woodside, Realm Resources and many others.

Damien McLaughlan


Senior analyst

Damien Mclaughlan joined New Holland in 2016 and has 6 years’ corporate advisory experience covering Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining New Holland, Damien was a senior analyst at Rockpoint Corporate Finance.

Damien’s experience covers metals and mining as well as infrastructure and transport and logistics. He has advised clients on a number of significant transactions including the acquisition of a 50% stake in the Super Pit, privatisation of Port of Newcastle, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), as well as a range of other ECM, DCM and M&A deals.

Damien holds a Masters in Applied Finance from Victoria University of Wellington, and is a CFA Charterholder.
